Peter Tiede, the correspondent of the German media BILD, was banned from entering Russia for two years. The Federal Security Service border guards detained Tiede at the passport control at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport when he arrived in Russia. The security forces told the journalist that he was banned from entering the country until at least March 7, 2024, despite having a valid visa. Tiede was charged with an unpaid fine, but in a personal conversation, the border guards explained that the Federal Security Service viewed him as a threat to Russia’s defense capability.
