On April 13, the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Gevorg Simonyan filed a lawsuit against Pastinfo.am LLC (the founder of the news website Pastinfo.am) with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, demanding to refute the information, discrediting his honor, dignity, and business reputation, and to pay a compensation. The reason for the lawsuit was the material published on the above-mentioned website on March 11, where with a reference to an anonymous source the author wrote that during the search of Gevorg Simonyan’s office, the law enforcement bodies found in his computer lists of involvement of policlinics and ambulance services in the upcoming elections to Yerevan Council of Elders. The lawsuit is being considered.
