The convicted journalist Palina Pitkevich has been included on the list of individuals prone to “extremist activity” on the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs website. In March this year, she was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment to be served in a general regime colony, along with a substantial fine. The journalist was accused of collaborating with the media project Media IQ, which the Belarusian KGB has designated as an “extremist organisation.”
