On July 29, blogger Olimjon Khaidarov was detained and on the same day, by court decision, charged with extortion and allegedly receiving a bribe of USD 10,000. The blogger’s younger brother Salimjon reported about the hunger strike started by the blogger in the pre-trial detention center, he denies receiving a bribe from his brother and considers it a staged event by law enforcement agencies. On the day of his arrest, security officers searched the blogger’s apartment. As a result, two computers, a souvenir knife, and old phones were seized.
