Fergana-based blogger Olimjon Haydarov was fined 70 basic calculation units, or UZS 21 million. This ruling was made on Tuesday by the Criminal Court of the Uzbekistan district. The court found the blogger guilty under Part 1 of Article 201 (violation of the order of organization, holding meetings, rallies, marches, or demonstrations) and Part 2 of Article 202-2 (dissemination of false information, including in the media, telecommunications networks or the Internet, containing threats to public order or safety) of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The court imposed a fine of 70 basic calculation units under Article 34 (application of an administrative penalty for committing several offenses). In early December, Haidarov published a video in which employees of the gypsum factory Albus in the Fergana region claimed that 10,000 residents were left jobless due to gas cuts at organizations in the district.
