Olga Voronko, the correspondent of the Ratel.kz news and analysis resource in Pavlodar, was summoned for interrogation at the police department as a witness in a criminal case related to one of her publications. During the interrogation, the investigator forbade her to say that she was married, promising criminal liability for giving false testimony. «He strongly wanted to record that I was living not with my husband, but with my cohabitant. At the same time, the criminal case in which he interrogated me was about liquefied petroleum gas», — Voronko wrote on Facebook. As a result, the interrogation began only after Voronko asked the officer’s management to intervene.
