S. Shlychkov, a resident of Pavlodar and a citizen with disabilities, appealed to the police with a demand to bring journalists Irina Adylkanova (Nasha Zhyzn) and Olga Voronko (currently the Ratel.kz correspondent) to criminal liability under Article 147 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (violation of privacy and legislation). Shlychkov believes that from 2010 to 2014, the journalists, «using their official position, published articles, thereby illegally collecting information about S. I. Shlychkov’s private life». The articles were published in the media Vremya and Nasha Zhizn. The investigation has been on for five years now: the case is being brought, then archived, then brought again. Voronko was summoned to the police for interrogation as a witness in the case. Adylkanova was not summoned for interrogation.
