Regional journalist Oleg Baturin went missing in Kakhovka. The journalist's wife reported that he left home without a phone and documents to meet with a friend for 20 minutes. The journalist has not been in touch for several days and has not returned home. On March 20, Baturin reported that he was released. His sister, Оlha Perepelytsya, reported the details of the journalist's kidnapping on her Facebook page and told in his own words: «On March 12 at 5 PM, I was grabbed at the Kakhovka bus station. They beat me. I was humiliated. Threatened. They said that they would kill me. Almost eight days. 187 hours of captivity. Almost no food. Several days with almost no water. No soap, no clothes for change. They wanted to break me, to trample me».
