Additional information:

The Volozhin District Court heard a case against Oksana Kolb, the former editor of the newspaper Novy Chas. She was summoned to court as a convicted person in order to have her sentence made harsher — from so-called “khimiya” to a more severe form of punishment. The proceedings took place in the journalist’s absence, as she had left the country back in 2022. The verdict that was handed down is unknown. Earlier, in June 2022, the Minsk Central District Court sentenced Kolb to two and a half years of restriction of liberty with placement in an open-type correctional facility under the charge of gross violation of public order (Part 1, Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
