Journalist Nurzhan Baimuldin was summoned to the Department for Counteraction to Extremism of the Akmola Region Police Department in connection with a report by the police officer B. Zhakupov addressed to the deputy head of the regional police department. According to the journalist, the report states that during the monitoring of Facebook, a post by Nurzhan Baimuldin with negative statements about the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was discovered and that the journalist’s actions have signs of an administrative offence under Part 3 of Article 456-2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The police officer drew up an administrative report against the journalist under Part 3 of Article 456-2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (placement, dissemination of false information). Copies of the material and the report were not handed to the journalist, despite his demands.
