On Thursday, the police stopped the animal defenders rally organized by Nijat Ismayilov in the Narimanov district of the capital. Two participants were detained. The protest was carried out because of the killing of six stray dogs near construction sites. The police used phsycal force against the journalists who covered the demonstrations (Nurlan Gahramanli, Teymur Karimli, Avaz Khafizli). The police beat and pushed the journalists, and took away their phones and recording equipment (it was later returned).
