Freelance journalist Nurlan Libre (Gahramanli) was detained by the police, mistreated, and beaten. Libre was detained near the 26th police station of the Yasamal district. He was near the station to collect information about the detained fellow journalist Elmeddin Shamilzadeh. He spent more than an hour at the police station. The journalist, who said that he was beaten and insulted at the police station, was released after being fined AZN 50 for failing to comply with a lawful police order.
