The General Prosecutor’s Office has declared Novaya Gazeta Europe, the media outlet created by Novaya Gazeta employees who emigrated from Russia after the start of the war, «undesirable organisation». The prosecutor’s office considered that Novaya Gazeta Europe «poses a threat to the foundations of the constitutional system» because the media publishes «biased information materials detrimental to the interests of the Russian Federation» and quotes materials from «extremist» and «undesirable» organisations — structures of Alexey Navalny, The Insider, Bellingcat, and others. «The main topics of the publications include false information about alleged mass violations of the rights and freedoms of citizens in Russia, accusations of our country in unleashing an aggressive war in Ukraine, committing war crimes against civilians, repressions», — the prosecutor’s office said.
