Tverskoy District Court fined Novaya Gazeta RUB 200,000 and its editor-in-chief Dmitry Muratov RUB 60,000 for dissemination of fakes (Article 13.15, part 9 of Code of Administrative Offences) for the April article by Elena Milashina "Death from the COVID-19 is the lesser evil" about the situation with the pandemic in Chechnya. Previously, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, Milashina's article was deleted but then returned to the website yet censored: the fragment which, in the opinion of the Prosecutor's Office, "could provoke a rise of panic" was deleted.
