Before the municipal council meeting, central market vendors, dissatisfied with street trading in the Comrat city, gathered in the foyer of the city hall. They, as well as the press, were not allowed into the session hall. The municipal council chairman, Gheorghe Zlatov, came out to the protesters. He insisted that the cameraman stop filming the meeting. Gheorghe Zlatov went to the counter, where the journalist's phone and microphone were placed, and threw the phone to the ground. All this was happening live in the presence of police officers, who took no action against the council chairman.
