Giorgi Kalandarishvili, chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, held a briefing on September 12 where he stated that TV Pirveli illegally processed and attempted to use the personal data of the election administration employees. Investigative journalist Nodar Meladze, the head of the news service of TV Pirveli, responded to this statement. According to him, the matter concerns obtaining the phone number and residential address for a specific story. CEC said that journalists abused the law on personal information. Journalist underlined that the CEC employees are public figures and their phone numbers and addresses can be found and accessed by journalists.
