The head of the National Preventive Mechanism and Public Supervisory Commission Marina Nistoliy went to court in Petropavlovsk with a lawsuit for the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation against the blogger Nikolay Nikolayenko. The reason for the lawsuit was Nikolayenko’s news story, published on the YouTube channel Petropavlovsk Today on August 13 under the title «Petropavlovsk. This has never happened before». In the news story, three participants of the NPM in the North Kazakhstan region declare their withdrawal from the organization due to the loss of trust in the head of the group M. Nistoliy and the Ombudsman Elvira Azimova and argue their statement. The lawsuit claims are to oblige the blogger to remove defamatory information from the video hosting and to recover from Nikolayenko the compensation for moral damage. On March 3, 2023, a judge denied Marina Nistoliy's claim.
