The First Western District Military Court in St. Petersburg sentenced Nikolay Farafonov, the author of the Telegram channel Cynical Komyak, who was arrested in September 2023, to six years in a general regime colony. He was found guilty of calling for terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for a post and several comments approving the burning of military recruitment centres. The court banned Farafonov from administering websites and pages in social networks for three years.
