Telizhenko was detained by riot police on 10 August in the Minsk city centre while covering a peaceful protest against the presidential elections' results. He was taken to the Moskovskiy District Department of Internal Affairs, where he was beaten and kept in inhuman conditions. Police drew up a protocol on violation of the legislation on mass events. After that, he was taken to the detention center in Zhodino (Minsk region). He was released on 12 August and deported.
