Meshchansky District Court fined Mogutin RUB 10,000 under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules for holding a public event). On July 7, the journalist participated in individual pickets outside the Federal Security Service building to support Ivan Safronov, who is accused of treason. Mogutin stood with the banner, «If Safronov is guilty – show the evidence. If not – let him go».
