In the village of Izhevskoye, Girin posted on a notice board a small text about the war in Ukraine and several pictures of bombed Ukrainian cities, including pictures of AP photo reporter Yevhen Maloletka from besieged Mariupol. After that, a group of police officers led by the head of the district department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs came to his home. They conducted an «inspection» of the premises, seized a telephone from Girin, and in the village library — a printer and a computer, which he used. After that, the journalist was taken to the district center to give explanations.
