The Lefortovo District Court of Moscow has sent journalist Nika Novak to pre-trial detention centre for two months in a case of confidential cooperation with a foreign organisation. The details of the case are unknown, it is classified. This is the first known case of prosecution of a journalist under Article 275.1, introduced into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in 2022. Novak is the former editor-in-chief of the media outlet Zab.ru and organiser of music and poetry evenings.
