On February 2, from approximately 16:00-17:00; on February 4 at the same time, and on February 5 from 16:00-17:00 and from 22:00-24:00 (the time is approximate), problems with access to the site were observed by the Kostanay weekly Nasha gazeta (Our Newspaper). On February 7, after 9 o’clock, ng.kz was not accessible in either Kazakhstan or Russia. The administrators of the site found that the reason for the “lagging” of the site were massive DDoS attacks from an unknown source which were conducted through the computers of organization in Kostanay, for example KTEK, GKP (the Kostanay Heat and Electric Company), the private clinic Zhemchuzhina and several others. That is, a program was injected into their computers which regularly attacked the site of Nasha gazeta. The organizations themselves did not realize this. These programs did not affect their work at all.
