The news and analysis website NewTimes.kz has removed a publication about the war in Ukraine after receiving a notification from Roskomnadzor. It was about information about the EU sanctions, which the media published with reference to the BBC Russian Service. The Roskomnadzor notification said the publication contained «inaccurate publicly significant information about a special military operation being conducted by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation» and if it was not removed within 24 hours, Roskomnadzor threatened the agency with blocking in Russia. «We decided that now we have no right to deprive the Russian audience of access to the information that is published on our website», — NewTimes.kz director Sergey Kim explained.
