Natalya Zakharchuk, editor-in-chief of the Karelian online media Stolitsa na Onego, announced her resignation. She stated that this decision was politically motivated and that she was leaving because of the pressure put on the media and on her personally before the elections of the head of Karelia. As noted by local media, the owner of Stolitsa na Onego and Zakharchuk's boss are representatives of United Russia, while she herself represents the CPRF party in the Petrozavodsk city council.
