A court in Nizhny Novgorod sentenced journalist Natalya Rezontova to a year and a half of restriction of freedom in the case of violating sanitary and epidemiological rules (Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the investigation, in January 2021, Rezontova published posts on social networks about actions in support of Alexey Navalny, «deliberately ignoring the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological rules regarding the cancellation of mass events». Rezontova was banned from leaving Nizhny Novgorod and attending mass events. The prosecutor’s office requested two and a half years of restriction of freedom for her.
