On May 17, the editorial office of Nasha Gazeta received a claim from the head of the Department of Culture of the Kostanay Region Yerlan Kalmakov. He demanded to refute the information spread in the article by Galina Katkova «The military enlistment office is wasted» (Nasha Gazeta, 11.05.2023), which tells about the fate of the building of the old military enlistment office, which was earlier included in the list of historical and architectural monuments, taken for state protection in Kostanay. The claim concerns the information that the state sold the historical building in 2022. The publication was prepared based on the response of the state body received to the enquiry of Nasha Gazeta about the preservation of the building.
