The editorial staff of Nasha Gazeta received a letter of recommendation from the Information Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information regarding one of the materials on the website of the media outlet ng.kz. The letter informs that according to the results of the legal analysis on the website ng.kz, one material with signs of violation of the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, namely, infringement on the sovereignty of Kazakhstan, has been identified. The material in question is the publication of the website user under the nickname Ilyas «Was it Independence?», posted in the rubric «People’s News» on December 19, 2023. The content of the rubric is formed by the readers themselves. The Committee of Information drew the attention of the editorial board to the need to remove the material. The editorial board did not fully agree with the Committee’s conclusions, but removed the material.
