Journalist Nargiz Absalamova was abused by police while performing her professional duties. The journalist told Meydan TV that the incident happened near the Koroglu metro station. She saw several women and men arguing with the police in the area and approached them. When the journalist saw that the police wanted to take some people to the police station, she started filming what was happening, which resulted in her being physically abused by the police. She reported that the police officer initially tried to take her phone away from her, claiming that she was not a journalist. When she showed him her press card, he confiscated it. Absalamova added that the policeman tried to take her to the station, but she did not go. Later, she contacted the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and informed it about the incident. They explained that the journalist could take the press card back in 40 minutes, but eventually it turned out that it had been destroyed.
