The Batumi City Court sentenced Mzia Amaghlobeli, co-founder of the online outlets Batumelebi and Netgazeti, to two years in prison for "attacking a police officer." Initially, she faced a sentence of four to seven years, but during the verdict announcement, Judge Nino Sakhelashvili reclassified the charge under a different article of the criminal code, which carries a lighter sentence. Amaghlobeli has already spent seven months in jail, including 38 days on a hunger strike.
