The court fined the founder of Azon.uz Mubashshir Ahmad USD 462 for publishing materials of religious content without expertise. Azon.uz editor-in-chief Abdulaziz Muborak called it an attempt to «silence the website». The decision was made on June 21 by the Chilanzar District Criminal Court of Tashkent based on the results of monitoring by the Main Department for Combating Terrorism and Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and consideration by the Committee for Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers.
