Journalists from Publika were forcibly removed from the Tbilisi City Court building by court employees while covering high-profile cases involving activists and politicians. Recently, the court introduced a new practice allowing only the Public Broadcaster to bring photo and video equipment inside the building, effectively restricting other media outlets. As a result, journalists are unable to carry out their work properly during such trials. These proceedings are also marked by a heavy police presence outside the court, with officers preventing people from entering the court’s yard.
