On May 18, the court satisfied the claim of businessman Yesenbayev against the editorial office of the Vremya newspaper and journalist Mikhail Kozachkov. The editorial board must publish a refutation of the controversial information indicated in the article «Vicious ties», remove the digital version of the article from the time.kz website and pay the plaintiff KZT 80,000 (about USD 200) for moral damage. Yulia Esenbaeva was also brought to trial as a defendant. By a court decision, she must refute the information recognized by the court as defaming and pay KZT 320,000 (about USD 800) in compensation for moral damage to the plaintiff.
