The owner of the Vremya newspaper, Vremya Publishing House LLP, and journalist Mikhail Kozachkov are defendants in a civil lawsuit to protect the honour, dignity, and business reputation Fatima Zhakypova, pro-rector of the Kazakh National University. The lawsuit followed the publication «Anti-Corruption is Helpless – Will Anti-Plagiarism Help?» published in May 2021. Zhakypova demanded a refutation of the information, which she considers false, and compensation for moral damage.
