Mikhail Alferov was summoned for interrogation to the Investigative Committee In a case of insult of members of the government (Art. 319 of the Criminal Code). The blogger refused to provide testimony, invoking Art. 51 of the Constitution (“no one should be obliged to give evidence against himself”). After the interrogation, he was issued a warrant for a search. Alferov was first searched at the Investigation Committee, and his telephone and camera were confiscated. Then his home was searched, and his computer was confiscated. The case was opened based on a report from an official of the Center Against Extremism. The reason was a video criticizing Kuzbass police officers.
