The Kemerovo Regional Court sentenced blogger Mikhail Alferov to 470 hours of compulsory labour in the case of rehabilitation of Nazism (Part 3 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In addition to compulsory labour, Alferov was given an additional punishment — a two and a half year ban on certain activities. The court deprived the blogger of the right to «engage in activities related to the placement of appeals and other materials in information and telecommunication networks of public use». The case under the article on the rehabilitation of Nazism because of the blogger’s video was initiated on July 15, 2020. The investigation considered that in the video entitled «#9 #may #day #victory #day #victory #Kemerovo #Kuzbass #2020», the blogger made offensive remarks about the Great Patriotic War and Victory Day.
