The Tsentralny District Court of Kemerovo sent opposition blogger Mikhail Alferov under house arrest. He is accused of using non-dangerous violence against a representative of the authorities (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), incitement to hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and defamation of a judge (Part 1 of Article 298.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). On August 15, Alferov’s apartment was searched, after which he was detained.
