Enforcement proceedings have been opened against journalist Mikhail Afanasyev, who was sentenced to 5 and a half years in the case of «war fakes», under a civil suit filed by Khakass deputy Tayir Achitayev to protect his honour and dignity. According to the court ruling issued shortly before Afanasyev’s arrest, the journalist must reimburse moral damage, court expenses and the cost of expertise totalling RUB 55,800.
