Security officials detained at least 43 journalists who were covering the protests against the presidential election results. Maminau was detained near his home. During his detention, he was beaten, taken to the police station, where he was drawn up two administrative reports: for alleged disobedience to the police orders (Article 23.4 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) and for participating in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). Maminau was placed in the detention center until the trial. On October 12, the court found him guilty and arrested him for 20 days.
