The Georgian Public Broadcaster fired journalist Meri Shikhashvili after she returned from her maternity leave. Shikhasvili was part of a crew at critical talk show Realuri Sivrtse, which GPB shut down earlier this year. The channel management fired or demoted the rest of the crew. The fired journalist claims channel management decision is related to them protesting GPB's pro-government editorial stance. It's been over nine months, some former and current employees of GPB have been protesting the channels policy and demanding professional coverage of ongoing events in the country.
