Vitaly Borodin, a veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, filed a lawsuit against Meduza with the Odintsovo City Court for the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation. The reason was the article of August 27 about the pressure of the Russian authorities on the independent media. It reported that Borodin filed a complaint against Baza in 2019; the plaintiff denies this. Newspot.ru, registered in Donetsk, acted as a defendant: it republished the material of Meduza.
