According to the court ruling issued on the claim of the Deputy General Director of Batys Su Arnasy JSC Zhandos Samatov against the owner of the newspaper Moy Gorod in Uralsk (Media Start 2012 LLP), the editorial office must publish a refutation of the information spread in the headline of the article and pay compensation for moral damage in the amount of KZT 100,000. The claim for protection of honour, dignity, and business reputation was filed in connection with the publication «The director of Batys Su Arnasy was accused of embezzlement of money and his deputy — of drunkenness» (Moy Gorod, 6.10.2022). The plaintiff asked the court to recognise the information as inaccurate and defamatory, to order the publication of a refutation with an apology, and to order the defendants to pay compensation for moral damage in the amount of KZT 10 million.
