On September 26, the Shaykhantakhur District Criminal Court of Tashkent passed a verdict in the case of Telegram channel Kompromatuzb. Human.uz director Khurshid Daliyev and former press secretary of Uzbekneftegaz Siyavush Khoshimov received 7 years in prison each, and former press secretary of the Ministry of Employment Mavzhuda Mirzayeva received 5 years of restricted freedom. Mavzhuda Mirzayeva was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 113 (knowingly putting in danger of infection or contamination with HIV/AIDS) and Paragraphs A and C of Part 2 of Article 165 (extortion committed repeatedly and by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. She was sentenced to 5 years of restricted freedom with deprivation of the right to work in the media and to engage in journalistic and blogging activities for 3 years.
