The Minsk City Court announced the verdict to the editor-in-chief of the portal TUT.by Maryna Zolatava and director of TUT BY MEDIA Liudmila Chekina. Judge Valiantsina Zenkevich sentenced them to 12 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. The process took place almost two months in closed mode. «Zolatava was found guilty of disseminating materials with public calls for the seizure of state power, violent change of the constitutional order of our country, appeals to foreign states, foreign and international organisations, to actions harmful to the national security of the Republic of Belarus, committed with the use of mass media and the Internet, under Part 3 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, while Chekina was found guilty in the organization of the above actions», — reads the report of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Marina Zolatova was also declared guilty of inciting hatred and discord, committed by a group of persons.
