In the second Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case, the Yuzhny District Military Court sentenced Asanov to 19 years in a strict regime colony. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 205.5 (organization of the activities of a terrorist organization) and Part 1 of Article 30 / Article 278 (preparation of a violent seizure of power) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Six more Crimean Tatars, including civil journalists Server Mustafayev, Seyran Saliyev, and Timur Ibrahimov, received long term sentences. The Crimean Solidarity videographer Ernes Ametov was acquitted.
