The security forces took the journalist's international passport during a search on August 17. A month ago, the journalist was diagnosed with cancer. On August 24, Yudkevich was to begin treatment in Israel, but she cannot leave the country without documents. The passport was confiscated from Yudkevich by Centre for Combating Extremism officer Albert Gallyamov, despite the fact that the investigation recognized her as a witness in a case of justification of terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Investigator Aydar Nurullin refused to consider the demand for the return of the passport.
