Tugayeva was summoned for interrogation during the quarantine as a witness in the libel case opened in 2017 on the Pokrovsky conglomerate lawsuit. Investigators demanded that Tugayeva ensure the appearance of about ten other journalists who had previously collaborated with the media. In November 2019, the editorial office of the Yug Times (South Times) media was searched in the case.
