The judge of the Shymkent Administrative Court, seeing the editor of Vera.kz Marina Nizovkina at an open trial on the legality of the city’s sanitation competitions, ordered the journalist to leave the courtroom, justifying his request by the need to obtain the parties’ consent for the presence of the media. The session started without a representative of the media. Later, when questioning of witnesses on the case started, the judge again removed the journalist from the courtroom. It should be noted that during open court hearings in civil and administrative cases, journalists have the right to take notes during the court session, record the session with audio and digital media from their seats in the courtroom without any consent from anyone.
