The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has sentenced Ukrainian TV presenter Maria Yefrosinina in absentia to seven years of jail in a case of spreading military «fakes» motivated by political hatred. The court also banned the Ukrainian journalist from administering pages on the Internet for three years. In March 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs put her on a wanted list, and in May, the Basmanny District Court sent Yefrosinina to a pre-trial detention centre in absentia. Yefrosinina is a native of Kerch. She is currently working for the Ukrainian TV channel Novyi Kanal.
