In Barnaul, RusNews journalist Maria Ponomarenko, accused of «military fakes» (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), opened her veins in the detention center. Ponomarenko has been diagnosed with hysterical personality disorder and suffers from claustrophobia. From September 6 to 13, Ponomarenko was in a punishment cell because she broke a window. The fact that she spent two months with the windows taped shut led to the deterioration of the journalist’s mental state.
